Find the Best Cookware with ‘Your Cookware Helper’

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

ROANOKE, Va., July 10 /PRNewswire/ — When trying to find the best cookware, one typically has to sort through a plethora of sales ads, fragmented marketing materials, and biased articles. Lakeside Analytics, Inc. President Mark Jala addressed this issue, announcing the official opening of their website “Your Cookware Helper.” ()
Mr. Jala declares, “There is no single best cookware for everyone. The right cookware, for you, is the one that matches your cooking style, health concerns, budget, and decor.” Donning the Internet identity of Your Cookware Helper, Mr. Jala guides visitors through a simple 3-step process to find the best cookware.
“The first step is to determine the best cookware materials for your cooking style. The second step is to determine the best brands for the cookware materials chosen. The third step is to find the best sales for the cookware brands and product lines determined to be best for you,” says Mr. Jala.
The site offers detailed information about the six major cookware materials: stainless steel, anodized aluminum, nonstick, cast iron, copper, and glass/stoneware/ceramic. The site also covers 14 major brands from All-Clad to Viking, displaying information about each of their product lines, and offers a handy chart comparing the relative prices of each brand. The Your Cookware Helper website does not sell anything directly from the site. Mr. Jala says, “There are plenty of great sales out there already. The problem is finding mature online retailers offering a wide selection, easy site navigation, and honest pricing. Finding and offering the best cookware sales were the last pieces of the site I wanted to make sure were right and proper before we officially opened the site.” The site offers a recommended selection of sales, up to 70% off and more, for each of the covered brands from four online retailers meeting the strict requirements of Mr. Jala.
One of the most important aspects of the website is a thorough attention to the health aspects of cookware. “We often pay attention to the foods we eat, but rarely on the materials used to cook the food on. We have all heard the phrase ‘We are what we eat.’ But we probably have not thought of that phrase in terms of aluminum, nickel, or polytetrafluoroethylene,” Mr. Jala says. Many articles on the site are either solely devoted to the health aspects of cookware, or include health references.
Lakeside Analytics, Inc. is an Internet research and development company. Founded in 1998 by Mr. Jala, the company studies Internet trends and search engine strategies, and develops websites like Your Cookware Helper.

Once Again Among the Nation’s Finest: U-M Hospitals & Health Centers Rank 13th in the U.S.

ANN ARBOR, Mich., July 11 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — A new national ranking of American hospitals again places the University of Michigan Hospitals and health Centers among the country’s finest, with a rank of 13th over all and recognition for excellence in 15 areas of specialized care.
The new rankings, compiled by U.S. News & World Report magazine and released online today, mark the 13th year in a row that U-M has been named to the honor roll of “America’s Best Hospitals.”
The U-M Hospitals and health Centers are part of the U-M health System, which has also been recognized by U.S. News in recent months as having one of the nation’s top children’s hospitals and one of its top medical schools.
No other hospitals in Michigan were among the 19 institutions on the national honor roll, which signifies across-the-board excellence in multiple medical specialties.
U.S. News also ranks each of those medical specialties individually, and U-M achieved a high national ranking in 15 categories. In many cases, U-M was the only Michigan hospital ranked among the top few dozen in the country for each specific treatment area. Of the 5,453 hospitals considered for the rankings, only 170 made the list in even one specialty.
In three categories - gastrointestinal disorders; ear, nose and throat diseases; and geriatrics — U-M made the top 10 in the country, ranking ninth, tenth and tenth, respectively.
Eight other U-M specialties ranked in the top 20 in the country. These include the specialty care of the U-M Comprehensive Cancer Center, at 17th, and the U-M Cardiovascular Center, at 18th, as well as the Kellogg Eye Center’s ophthalmological care, and U-M treatment of endocrine, kidney, respiratory, rheumatological and urological disorders.
“Our strength across the board, in many areas of specialty, makes it possible for us to retain this place in the top tier of American hospitals year after year,” says Doug Strong, M.B.A., director and chief executive officer of the U-M Hospitals and health Centers. “That means that every one of our nearly 19,000 physicians, nurses, allied health professionals and staff across the entire health System can be proud of this achievement, and of other national recognition we’ve received for our high-quality care.”
U.S. News determines the “America’s Best Hospitals” rankings based on hospital reputation in particular specialties, and, for all but four specialties, on death rates and a mix of care-related factors such as nursing and patient services. Rankings in Ophthalmology, Psychiatry, Rehabilitation and Rheumatology are determined by reputation among board-certified specialists.
Earlier this year, U.S. News ranked the U-M Medical School 11th among the best research-oriented medical schools, in a tie with Columbia University’s medical school. U-M was also ranked 17th among medical schools for training students in primary care medicine. Four of U-M’s medical specialty training programs made the top 10, including two programs - geriatrics and women’s health - that finished 5th nationally. U-M was ranked seventh for training students in both internal medicine and family medicine.
In May, in the magazine’s first-ever Best Children’s Hospitals rankings, the U-M C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital ranked among the nation’s best in all seven specialties. The highest specialty ranking was 4th in the country, for children’s heart care. For more information on recognitions for the U-M health System, visit .
For the 2008 America’s Best Hospitals rankings, U-M’s rank in each specialty category is:
Overall — 13

Cancer — 17
Ear, Nose and Throat — 10
Endocrinology — 16
Gastrointestinal — 9
Geriatrics — 10
Gynecology — 22
Heart and Heart Surgery — 18
Kidney — 18
Neurology and Neurosurgery — 31
Ophthalmology — 16
Orthopedics — 30
Rehabilitation — 21
Respiratory Disorders — 15
Rheumatology — 15
Urology — 14

The “America’s Best Hospitals” methodology was devised in 1993 at the University of Chicago. The 2008 rankings were produced by RTI International in Triangle Park, N.C.

Drexel School of Public Health Uses NetReach’s cmScribe Advanced Content Management System (CMS) Software for First National Diversity Preparedness Clearinghouse

AMBLER, Pa., July 8 /PRNewswire/ — Drexel University’s School of Public health has launched the National Resource Center on Advancing Emergency Preparedness for Culturally Diverse Communities. It’s the first national online database of resources focused on preparedness issues as they relate to racial/ethnic diverse populations. The fully content-managed web portal uses cmScribe’s new advanced software tools designed to deliver thousands of annotated and cross-referenced resources.
Dr. Dennis P. Andrulis, associate dean for research at the Drexel University School of Public health and the director of the school’s Center for health Equality — who also serves as the principal investigator on the clearinghouse project — chose NetReach as the technology partner to architect and develop the site and web database in December 2007. The project is funded as part of an initiative of the Office of Minority Health, U.S. Department of health and Human Services.
The modern, secure and encrypted browser-based applications produced using the new tools are familiar and easy-to-use. Jonathan Purtle, health Policy Analyst on the project said, “We were extremely impressed with how user friendly the site is to update and maintain. We’ve been busy making changes to the clearinghouse and adding resources since our tutorial. I can’t get over how easy it is to add new resources!”
The eagerly anticipated site was designed and deployed in under five months. It offers the opportunity for the School of Public health to bring together national, state and local resources to promote innovation, information exchange and program development across the spectrum of preparedness priorities. The website features:
— Resource management and editing
— Submittal of resources from outside parties
— Resource browsing capabilities
— Powerful search and filtering capabilities

NetReach created a set of application building tools to handle complex relational database projects within cmScribe-going beyond competitive content management systems (CMS). The tools provide flexible, extremely rapid prototyping and deployment of manageable, easily updated, scalable web database applications based on the .NET platform. These browser-based applications enhance productivity and interactivity through Web Services and provide centralized transaction processing and maintenance with distributed clients; which is especially helpful in the case of Dr. Andrulis’s international team of researchers and analysts who collaborate from various geographic locations.
“Our experience developing similar projects and complex data-driven applications provided us with the insight to create a system that can quickly deploy and manage applications in half the time of custom development methods,” according to Stephen Bouikidis, Executive VP of NetReach, “The long term cost of ownership is significantly lower due to zero code maintenance, and the easy-to-update nature of the system.”
About the National Resource Center on Advancing Emergency Preparedness for Culturally Diverse Communities
The mission of the National Resource Center is to provide a central and comprehensive database of resources and an information exchange portal for individuals, communities, government, emergency personnel, first responders, health care providers, public health professionals, researchers, businesses and policymakers to advance emergency preparedness and eliminate disparities for racial and ethnic communities across all stages of an emergency event.
About NetReach
Developers of cmScribe web-based content management system (CMS), browser-based software that allows non-technical users to build and maintain highly dynamic websites. Built on the .NET 2.0 platform and is programmatically compliant with W3C and Section 508 of the Americans with Disabilities Act. cmScribe uses a generous role-based licensing scheme and is currently deployed in mid-tier applications across diverse business sectors. Streamline Health(R) Expands into Public Sector with New Customer, Columbus Public Health Vital Statistics Office

CINCINNATI, July 8 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — Streamline health Solutions, Inc. today announced that the Columbus Public health Vital Statistics Office will implement Streamline Health’s document management and workflow solutions using remote hosting services. As part of their plan, the Vital Statistics Office will use Streamline Health’s solutions for the storage and retrieval of birth, death and other vital documents and use their workflow solutions to enhance operational efficiencies and customer response time.
The Columbus Vital Statistics Office serves the public of one of Ohio’s largest counties, Franklin County, with a population of 1,095,662, according to the U.S. Census Bureau’s 2006 Population Estimates. The Vital Statistics Office registers and issues certified copies of Franklin County birth and death certificates, as well as handling corrections and court ordered changes. Currently, the Office maintains its birth and death records on microfilm rolls dating back to 1908 and uses an offsite storage facility for other forms that must be kept according to the City of Columbus retention schedule. The vital documents for an individual are stored according to when the changes take place, so lifetime records are fragmented across various microfilm rolls, making them difficult to locate.
“We sought a document management solution that could handle our large volume of requests, assist us in protecting our clients against identify theft and fraud, provide better tracking of HIPAA accounting of disclosure and enable us to reduce labor-intensive searches,” stated Kimberly Sims-Mills, Director of Vital Statistics, Columbus Public Health. “Streamline Health’s solutions, especially with their Release of Information Workflow module, offered the most robust and flexible option that addressed scalability, security and workflow for public record information requests.”
As part of the implementation plan, the Vital Statistics Office selected Streamline Health’s remotely-hosted solution, allowing them to more quickly implement accessANYware(TM), DataManager and Release of Information Workflow(TM) solutions, with the technical support of Streamline Health’s trained IT staff. Streamline Health’s flagship solution, accessANYware, will provide the Vital Statistics Office with a centralized document repository for their records with convenient access for retrieval of complete “lifetime” records.
“The requirements of the Vital Statistics Office are a natural fit with our Streamline health solutions, which will facilitate their capability to locate and deliver specific information as needed to the public,” according to Brian Patsy, president and CEO of Streamline Health. “By using our remote-hosting option, our new client can take advantage of our solutions without the need for extensive IT resources, while ensuring the privacy of health information and security of public records. We believe that our workflow solutions can provide similar benefits to other public sector organizations that have a need to manage and process documents or public records that are fragmented across multiple locations.”

DDB Remedy Wins Best of Show at IPA Best of Health Awards

NEW YORK, July 7 /PRNewswire/ — DDB Remedy Sydney picked up the Best of Show at the 2008 IPA Best Of health Awards in London for their “Little Fella” TV campaign raising awareness and understanding of Erectile Dysfunction amongst Australian men.
The IPA Best of health Awards celebrates the best creativity in healthcare advertising, a sector which encompasses the promotion of brands to both healthcare professionals and consumers. The “Little Fella” campaign (), which was shortlisted at this year’s Cannes Lions show, stood out amongst some of the best work in the international healthcare arena at the IPA awards show.
From 328 entries in this year’s competition and for their first year of entering work in this show, DDB Remedy picked up seven awards, including:
– Remicade Crohns won the Healthcare Professional, Press Campaign category aimed at specialist doctors.
– Silvers and Bronzes were also picked up for DDB Remedy campaigns for Glaucoma Australia and the AHMF Herpes Awareness Campaign.
– The Remicade Crohns Campaign won a special award for Best Use of Photography.
Dr John Bertolini, Managing Director, DDB Remedy, commented: “We are delighted that that we are producing work which is being recognized at an international level. The “Little Fella” campaign is a campaign we are incredibly proud of and a proof point of the determination and focus we have in becoming a leading healthcare agency.”
Mark Goldstone, President of DDB health Worldwide said: “Once again I’m pleased to see DDB’s creativity recognized at the prestigious IPA Best of health Awards. Great work doesn’t happen by accident and much effort from our creative and planning teams together with our clients went into creating these business driving ideas. As we continue to say, “Better Ideas, Better Results.”
Launched on behalf of the non-for-profit organization Impotence Australia in October 2007, the campaign communicates the realities of erectile dysfunction in a very unique manner. The TVC shows a typical middle-aged man going about his day shadowed by a miniature replica of himself suffering from the same stresses of daily life. At the end of this demanding day, the man is in bed with his wife and unfortunately the miniature replica has already fallen asleep and is refusing to comply with any demands. The spot closes with the tagline: “Look after your Little Fella and he will look after you.”
Matt Eastwood, National Creative Director, DDB Sydney said, “The main message we wanted to deliver to all men in Australia in this campaign is that your sex life will be severely affected if you do not improve your health and lifestyle. Campaigns that have discussed this issue in the past centered on romance and relationships. This campaign delivers a more direct message in a very bold, unique and humorous manner.”
David Chriswick, Senior Planner, DDB Sydney explained, “We saw the need to educate on the underlying causes of erectile dysfunction rather than create a campaign which only dramatized the benefit. We had to get across a direct rational health message while injecting some humorous human truths into the campaign.”
The campaign is supported by an unrestricted educational grant from the three major players in erectile dysfunction: Bayer Healthcare, Eli Lilly Australia and Pfizer Australia.
